Introduction to Copperplate Calligraphy

Copperplate Calligraphy, formally known as English Round Hand calligraphy, is an elegant form of handwriting that was developed in 17th century. A script that required specific tools and method to perform the basic strokes that creates beautiful letterforms which was extensively used for formal or wedding invitations or addressing.This script is used extensively for invitations and formal events which now mostly taken up as a hobby. During the class, instructor Syuhada @byhandarts will cover the basic of copperplate calligraphy from understanding the tools, basic strokes and pressure, the breakdown of each letter, to joining letters into words, as well as, going through the common errors that should be avoided. At the end of the class, if time permitted, there will be a demonstration on how you can use these skills to make personalized gifts for your loved ones.
