About the Experience
Description
Health Matters is an AYCKL event dedicated to raising cancer awareness and its impact to society. The event will include a speaker, Ms Vijaya, a cancer survivor herself, who will shed light on how it affected her and those around her.
The session will also include 4 workshops:

Dr Shumita - Patient Support Program: Navigating support for cancer patients where she will shed light on how relatives and those near a cancer patient can provide adequate support

Lee Kah Yee - Mindfulness in Everyday: This session is focused on mental health where she will share on finding peace in life and living in the present

Sri Ram Seetha - Befriending Internal Emotions Externally: Unidentified and unexpressed feelings and emotions become visible through the physical manipulation of clay

Lekshna Rubini Muralivaman - Branching Out: Discovering Self-Love Reflection on positive qualities and express them visually through art
Participants will be able to take away various tips and tricks on handling issues ranging from the physical to the mind and how art and clay can aid in daily health matters!

Creative SpaceThe American Youth Corner Kuala Lumpur is a partnership between the U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur and Mereka Makerspace to provide a platform for youth to engage and learn about issues of importance to both the United States and Malaysia. The American Youth Corner also offers EducationUSA services for those who are interested in pursuing higher study in the United States. The Corner aims to host a consistent slate of programs and initiatives that promote youth advocacy and help equip young leaders with the skills they need to tackle the challenges of the future and contribute to their communities.
