Description

We will be painting a small study of a botanical subject (spices to be precise!) in watercolor. Esther will take you step by step through the process of painting a botanically accurate subject. You will be taught basic watercolor techniques, including some color theory and how to create texture. Important: 1. This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as the intermediate artist wanting to try botanical painting. 2. We welcome ages 14 and above to this workshop. 3. All materials will be provided. 4. Bring along your lunch or a snack to enjoy after class. Esther Geh is a botanical artist, painting predominantly in watercolor, though she has also developed her personal style of depicting botanical subjects in transparent layers, using acrylic paints. She often teaches workshops in basic drawing and painting techniques, as well as of botanical subjects. Esther currently has work in private collections locally and internationally, in addition to work displayed in several public locations in Penang.
