A mortise and tenon joint is used most often to join two pieces of wood at 90 degrees and consists of two parts; the mortise hole and the tenon tongue. On the surface, it seems like a very simple joint but it is one of the strongest there is, and subsequently has been used by cabinetmakers and joiners for generations.
In this workshop, you get the chance to build a stool using this traditional joint with no screws or nails!

Before coming to the workshop, please be aware of the following rules: 1. Come on time, as we need to respect everybody's timing in the class. 2. Dress appropriately, with covered shoes. 3. Water and coffee will be provided, but bring your own bottles. 4. There will be a lunch break in between, with plenty of lunch options in the surrounding areas.
