Description

Learn to move and embrace your individuality with this dance & movement workshop while also contributing to a great cause! Sofia is a performing artist that specialises in dance and dance-theatre with circus experience. She has showcased self-devised work in various theatres across London and south-east England, blending provocative content with movement and text to challenge audiences’ preconceived ideas on socio-political issues. As part of the Move As One workshop, she wishes to celebrate our diversity through physical expression and dance, with whoever is inspired to explore their creativity. Drawing on her experience in dance, circus, and theatre, the workshop will entail both individual and collaborative methods of producing a short choreography based on the group’s interpretations of what it means to be unique. Proceeds from this workshop will be contributed to Malaysian Rare Disorders Society (MRDS).

About the Host

NAKSENI

Brand
NAKSENI is the sister company and business arm to WE&I Art, an art collective of unique PWD artists. NAKSENI is derived from the words "Anak Seni”, Malay words which translates to “Children of Art”. The word "Nak" here also means and implies the "need" or "want" of art in everyday life. It also refers to the child-like wonder and imagination that our artists have, regardless of their age. We celebrate the talents of these special and gifted youth by giving you a chance to take home a piece of their (he)art. We are open to collaborations for corporate and community events as well. Our workshops promote inclusivity and inspiration through art. Our goal is to elevate the status of PWD (Persons With Disabilities) artists and build a community of individuals who can spread positive influence. We are open to collaborations with artists, organisations, schools and other educational institutions as well.
