MAIN HIGHLIGHTS
Luheiw Renaweij was established in 2018 by a group of young Orang Asli from Perak, Malaysia. In the Semai language, Luheiw represents the magical bamboo (believed to be a guardian/protector), while Renaweij means graceful and beautiful. The name conveys the hope that audiences witnessing their performances will also be blessed by the wonders of nature. The team determines to preserve the fading arts and culture of the Orang Asli, presenting them to the public in innovative ways. Invited to perform at official events, they are also designated as official representatives for Malaysian Orang Asli in cultural exchanges with other nations.

Wayang TEK-Tek  is a series of workshops organized by Sekolah Main Wayang, focusing on the capacity building of Malaysia's indigenous youth. The project integrates Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and low-tech or DIY technology (tek) into performances resembling shadow puppetry. This performance incorporates not only traditional presentation methods but also includes live dance and theatrical performances. The story surrounds a folk legend of the Orang Asli Semai, an impressive stage play combining light and shadow that is you shouldn’t miss!
