Freelance Electronics Schematics & PCB Designer

NERDIE TECH. is looking for a freelance electronics schematics and PCB designer to support the development of our consumer electronics product line (Qi wireless chargers, power banks, NFC smart accessories, and IoT-enabled desk products). We are a small but technically capable team building real products in Klang Valley, and we need someone who can take a functional circuit concept and turn it into a clean, manufacturable PCB that we can send to JLCPCB for SMT assembly.

What You'll Be Working On

• Schematic capture for Qi wireless charging circuits (Qi coil driver ICs, USB-C PD input, protection circuitry)
• PCB layout for compact consumer electronics enclosures (small form factor, 2-layer and 4-layer where needed)
• NFC/RFID reader and NTAG module integration
• ESP32-based IoT device PCBs (sensors, BLE, low-power design)
• BMS (Battery Management System) circuits for LiPo and LiFePO4 cells
• Design for JLCPCB SMT assembly with correct footprints, component selection from JLCPCB Basic Parts Library
• Producing Gerber files, BOM, and CPL files for fab submission
• Reviewing and iterating on designs based on prototype feedback

Requirements

• Proficient in KiCad 9+ (or other)
• Working knowledge of analog and digital electronics: voltage regulators, USB-C PD, MOSFETs, protection ICs
• Experience designing for JLCPCB or equivalent PCB assembly service
• Understands DFM (Design for Manufacture) with appropriate trace widths, clearances, component placement for automated assembly
• Can produce clean schematics (annotated, component values labelled, power flags correct)
• Familiar with ESP32, STM32, or similar MCU integration
• Experience with Qi wireless charging ICs (e.g. TI BQ500212, IDT P9025, or equivalent) is a strong advantage
• Comfortable receiving functional requirement briefs and working independently
• Can communicate clearly in English (Bahasa Malaysia also fine)
