Description
Recommended for kids aged 8 to 12 years.
Poetry is an oral art form that plays with words, imagery and music. In this workshop, participants will discover how poetry can be used to tell stories and the power storytelling has to transfer knowledge and culture. We will read a poem and learn how to write and perform our own. We will draw from personal narratives and experience, adding to the story of 'who we are' to explore the themes of belonging, home and our connection to places.
The workshop will be conducted in English. No materials necessary (kids can bring their own notebooks and pencils if they want).
*IMPORTANT NOTE: Aside from the workshop fee for each child, please note that accompanying adults will also need to purchase an entry ticket to the main Tamu (Tamu entry is free for children).
