Join us for a remarkable celebration of International Education Week and the grand opening of the American Youth Corner Kuala Lumpur at Mereka on November 17th and 18th, 2023. This two-day event promises an enriching experience, fusing the best of American and Malaysian culture, education, and innovation.

Discover a world of engaging workshops, from upcycling clothes to diving into electronics, promising educational and fun experiences. Satisfy your taste buds with an array of international cuisine, perfect for mingling with fellow attendees. Distinguished speakers from the United States and Malaysia will share insights on international education and cultural exchange.

Day 1 - November 17, 2023:

  • 10:30 am - 10:45 am: Opening Ceremony Speech by CEO of Mereka Mr. Gurpreet Singh and Chargé D'Affaires Mr. Manu Bhalla
  • 11:00 am - 1:00 pm: Alumni Engagement led by EdUSA
  • 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm: Friday Prayer's & Lunch Break
  • 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Vice Consular Sharing Session with Q&A
  • 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Multipurpose Holder & Needle Punch Workshop
  • 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Needle Punch Workshop
  • 5:15 pm - 6:15 pm: Cloth Pouch & Solar Light Car Workshop

Day 2 - November 18, 2023:

The American Youth Corner Kuala Lumpur is a partnership between the U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur and Mereka Makerspace to provide a platform for youth to engage and learn about issues of importance to both the United States and Malaysia. The American Youth Corner also offers EducationUSA services for those who are interested in pursuing higher study in the United States. The Corner aims to host a consistent slate of programs and initiatives that promote youth advocacy and help equip young leaders with the skills they need to tackle the challenges of the future and contribute to their communities.
