Description

Readings@Tanjong returns with NEGARA KITA on 16 September 2023! The event is a part of the inaugural Penang Harmony Celebration and will be held in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of Malaysia Day. There will be a mix of poetry and cultural performances, with written works inspired by the theme of Harmony in Diversity.

This will be a time to think about belonging, togetherness, unity, and peace; a time to ponder on what it is to be Malaysian and to be living in this country we call home.

Come in your best traditional attire and let's celebrate Malaysia together.

About Readings@Tanjong:

Readings@Tanjong is a platform where readers and writers gather and surround themselves with stories, poetry, and the rhythms and melodies of words and languages. Held once every two months, Readings@Tanjong features the literary arts in Penang. It is a long-term community engagement project designed to provide a platform for Penang-based poets and writers to share their works with a wider audience, thereby increasing the readership of local literary works.
