Description
"We named our new weave method 'mansau ansau' in the Dusun language, meaning to walk and walk, or to keep journeying without knowing where you are headed."
- Yee I-Lann, July 2020
In conjunction with the exhibition, "ALLOM! AMATAI! ALLOM!", at A+ Works of Art, artist Yee I-Lann speaks to curator Denise Lai about her three series of photomedia essays: "Untitled Self-Portrait" (2017), "Rasa Sayang" (2014-2021), and "Measuring Project" (2021-22). These works form an entry point into a discussion about I-Lann's journey toward the tikar, and how new collaborators, techniques, and alternative knowledges have come to shape her recent practice.
