Description

Award-winning Malaysian filmmaker Yih Wen Chen brings her deeply evocative and insightful documentary, The Boys Club to George Town Literary Festival 2023. The film recounts Chen’s experience of sexual harassment and bullying during the filming of her feature documentary and the repercussions that came with calling it out. The Boys Club is a global success with international premieres and screenings including the Filmfest FrauenWelten in Germany, DMZ Docs in South Korea, the Doc Edge Festival in New Zealand and the San Francisco Documentary Festival. It was also the first Malaysian documentary to win the Network for the Promotion of Asia Pacific Cinema (Netpac) award at the 39th Busan International Short Film Festival.
