About Us

SeaShorts Film Festival (SSFF) founded in 2017 by award-winning filmmaker Tan Chui Mui, it started as an event to screen and celebrate Southeast Asian short films, and has since grown into a notable regional film event. From 2017 to 2019, the Festival manifested as a travelling event, with its three editions taking place in the Malaysian cities of Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Malacca. Its most recent editions, 2020 and 2021, were held entirely online. And we are returning to the physical festival for the 2022 edition.
