About the Experience
Description
Free Hand means free to explore, free to create, free to compose. Free from boundaries and to venture beyond conventions of traditional classical music - a true celebration of new Malaysian piano works.
Organized by Malaysian Composers Collective in partnership with UCSI University Institute of Music, this 1-day festival will feature 10 piano works written by our very own Malaysian composers and performed by UCSI faculty and students. After the concert, two composers will be selected to write the set piece for the finalists of the UCSI University International Piano Festival & Competition in 2024.
There will also be a composers' forum before the concert where composers and performers discuss their creative process through composition and performance.
